Owen Heller at NREF's Outdoor Heritage Day
Mr. Heller is a self-taught enthusiast of woodland Native Americans and their way of life; especially the Lenape-pre 1600. He has been studying Native American culture siince the early 1970s and has an extensive library. His library includes books written by C. A. Weslager, M. R. Harrington and Dr. Herbert C. Kraft, renowned archeaeologist and authority on the Lenapes.

Mr. Heller erected a wigwam to celebrate the Millennium at Lake Horicon in Lakehurst, NJ with the help of Boy Scouts in our area. He made/makes the items he presents. Dr. Kraft, while visiting the Museum in Lakehurst, N, was impressed with Mr. Heller's collection and work.
