Dwain comes from Rochester, NY, where he lives with his
wife and neice. He is a renowned hand builder of the
Appalachian dulcimer. He displays and gives workshops about
dulcimer building at various festivals throughout the
Northeast. Dwain’s dulcimers are held in high regard,
both here and abroad, where he regularly receives
commisions from Europe, Great Britian and the Far East.
Dwain also teaches dulcimer building classes at Northeast
Dulcimer Symposium, in Blue Mountain Lake, in the
Adirondaks, as well as in his studio.
Dwain is also a noted poet and essayist. He has
published poems in various small poetry periodicals, and
composes and inscribes a dedicatory verse for each dulcimer
he builds.
