Lifetime Achievement .
. .so far Award
The 2008
“Lifetime Achievement . . .so far” Award will
be presented to Jim Albertson at the concert Friday,
November 7, 2008.
Jim is well known to folk musicians and historians of South Jersey and the world as a singer-songwriter, storyteller and musician. Jim hosts the DOWN JERSEY RADIO SHOW every Wednesday evening at 730 pm. If you have never heard it, give yourself a NJ treat -- The program can be found at WSNJ AM 1240, AM 1440, and on the Internet at www.WSNJAM.com.
Jim was M.C. of the New Jersey Folk Festival, as well as coordinator of many folk music programs in New Jersey. His recording "Down Jersey" (FS-5203) is on the Smithsonian Institution's Folkways Label.
Jim’s ability to share the stories and songs of New Jersey’s history and Southern New Jersey in particular over time as well as his talent with guitar, dulcimer and flute and his desire to share his talents with others made him the clear standout for this year’s award.
If you have a note of congratulations or a picture from his musical career, please send it to us. We are making a special book for his award ceremony.
