Norm lives with his wife, Erin, in Breinigsville, PA. He has played guitar for nearly 40 years and took up the mountain dulcimer in 1997, the banjo in 2001 and he plays a few other odd instruments as well. He is the co-founder of The Pocono Dulcimer Club and coordinator of their Winter DulcimerFest held every January in Stroudsburg, PA. Norm began teaching out of necessity in 2002 and has been faculty at the Pocono Winter DulcimerFest; DAA Mountain Dulcimer Music Fest in Albany, NY; and August Dulcimer Days in West Dover, VT. Norm also is a lover of Old Time music and plays with the band, Wayfarers & Company.

MD - THE FIRST STEPS (BEGINNER I)
The basics - The names of its parts; holding it; tuning it; basic strum pattern w/ focus on rhythm; learning simple melody by ear and by tab. Work through several simple tunes - "Bile them Cabbage," "Aunt Rhody" & "Liza Jane." (All tunes subject to change at leader's discretion) DAD BEGINNER

MD - CONTINUING ON THE PATH (BEGINNER II)
Continuing with the basics - continue the focus on rhythm (in traditional and old time it is central to the tune); continue to work with melody adding basic chords; exploring and understanding the keyboard. Using tunes like "Old Joe Clark," Holy Manna" and "Sadie out the Back Door." (All tunes subject to change at leader's discretion) Come tuned to DAD. BEGINNER
